Yes. Both platforms, every feature, no account and no licence key. degr° used to cost $2.99; it doesn't any more.
The installer asks you once. It guesses your city from your internet connection and you either accept it or type a different one — that city is all degr° stores. You can also let your system's location services provide it, or change the city later in degr° settings.
No. Weather comes from MET Norway with the US National Weather Service as a backup. degr° asks for your coordinates' forecast and nothing else.
degr° moves the display a few pixels an hour so no pixel holds the same bright edge for long — slow enough that you'll never see it move. It also stops redrawing the screen once the number has settled, instead of repainting continuously the way a screensaver normally would.
Yes, and there's a dual-monitor mode that puts the temperature on one display and the clock on another. On recent versions of macOS, Apple made the screensaver a per-display setting — if another monitor shows a lake photo instead of degr°, run the included Install degr app once and it turns degr° on for every screen.
No. 30 open-licence fonts ship inside degr° itself, alongside a curated set already on your system. Every font in the menu is checked before it appears, so what you pick is what you see.
The Windows build isn't code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn you the first time. Click More info, then Run anyway. Every download has a published SHA256 checksum if you want to verify it.
