No. Weather comes from MET Norway with the US National Weather Service as a backup, and degr° does not require an account or API key.
It alternates between the live temperature and the current time. With ambient breathing on, it switches at the fully faded-out moment so the next display fades back in cleanly.
Yes. degr° renders across connected displays and includes a dual-monitor mode that can show temperature on one display and clock on another. On newer versions of macOS, Apple made screensavers a per-display setting — if another monitor shows a lake photo instead of degr°, run the included Install degr app once and it turns degr° on for every screen.
No. 30 open-license fonts ship inside degr° itself, alongside a curated set of fonts already on your system. Every font in the menu is checked before it appears, so what you pick is what you see.
Three ways, and you pick: type your city in degr° settings, let it ask your system's location services, or turn on the optional approximate-location fallback (off by default). Nothing is ever shared beyond requesting the weather.
The Windows download includes a one-step installer and SHA256 checksum. Because the Windows build may be unsigned, SmartScreen can show a first-run warning for some customers; the download package includes clear install steps.
